In Memoriam – Martin Hoekzema

With deep sorrow and disbelief, we received the news of the sudden passing of our dear colleague, Martin Hoekzema, Senior Quality Engineer at Tracamyl.

This unexpected loss has deeply affected all of us. Martin was not only a highly valued colleague – he was professional, dedicated, and always willing to lend a helping hand – but also a warm, kind and optimistic person. His presence brought energy and connection to our teams.

Martin joined Tracamyl Holding on July 1st, 2019, taking responsibility for the Quality (ISO 9001) and Environmental (ISO 14001) Management Systems across multiple Tracamyl companies, both nationally and internationally. From his very first day, he distinguished himself through his strong dedication and positive energy. He quickly became the linchpin of our teams. He was always well-informed, always ready to support others, and consistently bringing people and processes together.

Martin shaped the areas of Quality and Environment within our organizations in a way that will leave a lasting legacy. He achieved several important milestones, including guiding NBS Scientific to ISO 14001 certification and providing key environmental insights that helped the company achieve CO₂ neutrality in both transportation and building operations. Martin managed external audits across all companies with remarkable ease – approaching them with patience, clear oversight, and, at times, a hint of endearing spontaneity. It was this combination of professionalism and authenticity that made him so approachable and well-liked. Above all, Martin brought positivity into every interaction. He had a warm smile and a way of making others feel at ease. Whether you came to him with a complex issue or simply needed a moment to talk, he always made time. He listened attentively and often offered thoughtful perspectives or questions that others hadn’t yet considered.

We will deeply miss Martin for his expertise and indispensable role within our teams and organizations, but most importantly for the person he was: a warm-hearted individual, an exceptional colleague, and a trusted advisor to many. He will always be remembered.
