Professional Development through Tracamyl Internship Opportunities

In today’s fast-paced world, students are eager to apply their knowledge and gain practical experience. Offering internship opportunities is more than a generous act – it is a strategic investment in future talent. Tracamyl, together with its affiliated companies Micronic, AFYS3G, and NBS Scientific, collaborates with local institutions such as Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (Flevoland, the Netherlands) to provide students with hands-on internship opportunities that bridge the gap between academic theory and industry practice. In addition to local initiatives, Tracamyl also supports international internship initiatives in collaboration with the Rotary Student Program, enabling students from around the globe to develop professionally within an international context.

Internship Experiences

At Tracamyl and its affiliated companies, we believe in empowering the next generation of professionals through diverse local and international internship opportunities. Our programs offer students valuable, hands-on experience in a collaborative, dynamic and innovative environment. Discover what some of our recent interns have to say about their experiences.

In 2024, Tracamyl welcomed Geovana Moreira from Brazil as a marketing intern. Geovana played a key role in several successful product launches and reflected on her experience: “The most valuable thing I learned was the power of proactivity when you want to get things done. The internship gave me my first international experience and was a major steppingstone toward the global career I’ve always envisioned. After my time in the Netherlands, I felt much more confident in pursuing new opportunities abroad.”

Today, multiple interns are actively contributing to impactful projects across Tracamyl and its subsidiaries. For example, Stan Jongstra, currently interning at Micronic, shared his perspective: “I was looking for a company involved in both automation and plastics. Micronic stood out because they focus on both and do a lot of development in-house. I gained valuable experience in research and process optimization skills I hadn’t applied in this way before. It really helped me think more clearly about my future in technology. I would absolutely recommend Micronic for an internship. There’s a wealth of knowledge, especially in automation, development, and research. The guidance is excellent, the atmosphere is supportive, and you’re given the freedom to work independently while always having access to help.”

Springboard for Long-Term Careers

Internships at Tracamyl companies often serve as a springboard for long-term careers, providing a solid foundation for professional growth and development. Many former interns have grown into valued colleagues—here are a few inspiring examples of how early experiences led to lasting roles within the organization.

In 2020, Marco Scholte joined Micronic as an intern to assess the environmental impact of the company’s operations. His research identified waste reduction as a key area for improvement, and his practical recommendations led to meaningful changes. Recognizing his contribution, Micronic hired Marco as a Manufacturing Engineer. Today, he holds the position of Lead Project Engineer, continuing to drive innovation and sustainability within the organization.

Similarly, in 2023, Rogier Muijen completed an internship at Micronic focused on optimizing refill products. He investigated how the firmness of tube placement in a refill loader was affected by insertion force and depth. His findings contributed to the development of a prototype that enables precise, controlled tube placement. Reflecting on his experience, Rogier shared: “It was very pleasant to do an internship at Micronic. There’s a friendly atmosphere, you have the freedom to develop your own design, and colleagues are always open to advice or a brainstorming session.” Following the success of his internship, Micronic welcomed Rogier as a Project Engineer later that year.

Another standout example is Sophie Deneer, who began her journey in 2011 as a business development intern. She went on to hold several marketing roles across Micronic, AFYS3G, and NBS Scientific. Today, Sophie is the Marketing Director at Tracamyl. Reflecting on her career path, she said: “What I truly enjoy about working for the Tracamyl companies is the incredible diversity of my role—no two days are ever the same. I’m constantly exposed to new challenges, which keeps the work dynamic and rewarding. I see every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow, and I genuinely thrive on tackling them head-on with creativity and determination.”

These stories highlight how internships at Tracamyl companies can evolve into fulfilling, long-term careers—rooted in innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
